IFPI Together With PRM Launches The Official Philippines Chart

On the 23rd of January 2025, the International Federation of Phonographic Industries (IFPI) together with Philippines Recorded Music Rights (PRM) launched the Official Philippines Chart. The charts are updated every Tuesday and show the top performing songs in the Philippine Territory based on data gathered by the IFPI from the streams on Apple Music, Deezer, Spotify and YouTube.

The top 3 slots for the first-ever chart are Filipino R&B artist, Dionela’s viral hit, ‘Marilag’, at number one, followed Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars’ collaboration, ‘Die With A Smile,’ at number 2 and Kendrick Lamar and SZA’s freshly released ‘luther' at number 3.

Simon Seow, IFPI’s Regional Director for Southeast Asia, shared his excitement for Dionela topping the charts stating, “A huge congratulations to Dionela and everyone involved in making Marilag the first-ever Official Philippines Chart #1! It is wonderful to see a Pinoy artist claim this milestone, and is a testament to the wealth of talent and artistry in the country. We look forward to reporting on further success and celebrating more artists in the coming weeks and months.”

Roslyn Pineda, General Manager of Sony Music Philippines and PRM Board Member, provided her insights on the importance of the newly launched Official Philippines Chart.

“We are delighted to announce the launch of the Official Philippines Chart, which will shine a light on the consumption habits of music fans across the country and provide an important platform to showcase the vibrant and growing local music scene. Combining the Official Philippines Chart with others in a regional hub gives fans an insight into how their favourite tracks are performing in other countries, and will aid the discovery of new hits.”

The Official Philippines Chart is part of IFPI’s regional initiative to showcase the popular songs in the Southeast Asian region as they have an identical launch for the charts of Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam which can be seen here on their website: https://www.officialseacharts.com/.

Locally, PRM is working together with the IFPI to ensure that the Official Philippines Chart is accessible to Filipino consumers, to celebrate the success of their favorite artists and collaborators and showcase their artistry. With that, the data from these IFPI charts will be made available by PRM via their Philippines Musik Charts available on their website: https://www.prm.com.ph/philippines-musik-charts.
